Novell sought out Cicero to assist with the content and design of an advertorial spread. Cicero researched, conceptualized, designed, and wrote the copy which discussed the flexibility and security in transforming a company's platform to open source. This successful design led to Cicero's development of GroupWise and SUSE LINUX sales packets and direct mail pieces to target company decision makers.

Cicero also developed a new sales and marketing approach for Novell to significantly augment sales in the federal, state, and local government sectors. This strategy utilized in-depth interviews, surveys, and focus groups and included specialized sales kits and trainings for Novell's government sales team.
