About David

David Lloyd is an Improvement Coach with Ed Direction, a practice area of Cicero Group that focuses on K-12 Public Education. In his role, David works directly with classroom educators in a coaching capacity to drive the implementation of evidence-based instructional practices in the classroom. He also works closely with the Ed Direction team on the development and delivery of professional-learning content for district, school, and teacher leadership teams.

David entered the classroom as a Teach For America Corps Member in rural Idaho where he taught math to students in grades 6-8. In his time there, David spearheaded the implementation of a new program for targeted improvement in the school’s math classes that led the department to significant increases in student achievement. He also served on several school committees and was a founding member of the District Data Team. After his time with Teach For America, David moved back home to Utah where he taught math to middle schoolers in the Salt Lake City School District.

David is passionate about improving educational outcomes for all students through the implementation of evidence-based instructional practices and by helping create data-driven teams within school systems. Recognizing that teachers have a greater impact than any other factor in determining student success, David leverages his own experience in the classroom to help teachers realize their full potential in improving the outcomes for their students.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Utah State University, where he graduated with high honors.
