About Devyn

Devyn Brown is an Improvement Coach with Ed Direction. She works with teachers and engages in research-based projects with schools across the country to improve student learning through guiding how teachers teach, collaborate, and engage meaningfully with data.

Prior to joining Ed Direction, Devyn taught in dual-immersion and English-only classroom settings in charter, public, and independent schools. She was awarded the Master Teacher designation through Aspire Public Schools for her work with emergent bilingual kindergarten and first grade students. While in the classroom, she also served in leadership roles as the head of her school’s equity team and as an induction coach for beginning teachers.

Devyn also worked as a Literacy Facilitator in Charlotte Mecklenburg schools, where she coached K-5 teachers. She developed and led professional development, adapted curriculum, and supported teachers in collecting and analyzing student data to plan instruction responsive to the needs of students. She collaborated with a new administrative team to develop a positive school climate in a time of significant change.

Devyn earned a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the Stanford Teacher Education Program at Stanford University, along with a BCLAD (Bilingual, Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic Development) Certification. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stanford University.
